About .asia
Start with the regional connection: .asia is for the Asia-Pacific community, including buyers seeking a nexus there. The Charter Eligibility Requirement does not demand an address in the region.
DotAsia Organisation Ltd. operates the extension. Chinese, Japanese and Korean internationalized names and DNSSEC are supported. When comparing providers, include charter acceptance in the assessment alongside the name and service offer.
Rules and registration
Who can register
Registrants accept the .ASIA Charter Eligibility Requirement: they must be established in, seeking, or have a nexus with the Asia-Pacific community (the DotAsia Sponsor Community). An address in the region has not been required since 2017; registrars either include the requirement in their registration agreement or list an administrative contact with a postal address in the region.
Good to know
Charter eligibility disputes follow CEDRP, which forms part of the agreement accepted by each registrant.
