About .net
For network projects and other general-purpose sites, .net offers a broadly used naming context. New registrations and renewals use terms from 1 to 10 years, with no local-residency requirement.
Registrar transfers are supported and add a year, so include that year when assessing a transfer offer alongside a renewal. The registry is VeriSign, Inc. Internationalized names and DNSSEC are supported, and labels can contain 1 to 63 characters.
